How to steward the gift God gave you, responsibly.

Life is so amazing.

We get to learn many different lessons throughout life.

And I’m so honored to be able to share my piano life  lessons with you.

Today I’m gonna share secret #3: When the new doors begin to open: How to steward the gift God gave you, responsibly.

Now let me tell you a quick story…

There was a point in my life where I never thought I’d be in piano ministry. I didn’t really have a big desire to get better at piano because I knew that our Sunday group was doing backing tracks and I wouldn’t be involved as much, and boy was I wrong.

God definitely had different plans! Before any type of ministry – when I FULLY dedicated myself to learning piano and excelling in the gift He gave me – only then God called me into a bigger ministry. In other words, if you’re not in a position where you’re able to minister at the level you want to be ministering – it doesn’t mean that you can cross your hands and wait until that opportunity happens. In life, it’s important to start the process and perfect it – and that’s when new doors begin to open.

You might be thinking, “our group doesn’t need a piano player” or “I’m not the main keyboard player” or “I don’t have a consistent ministry”. The truth is that when you take the gift God gave you seriously and perfect it more and more – doors begin to open.

I’m also not saying that it’s the same for every person. Since you are called to a specific ministry that God has for you – things will look different for you. Maybe the opportunity will come when you’re not ready yet – but for the most part – I see that the opportunity comes once you start growing in your gifts and talents FIRST.

It’s not just me, my student Sarah said that she has been wanting to be in her church’s worship group for a very long time but there was no new opportunity. Instead of sitting and waiting around, she took the step of learning different styles of playing and spent a lot of time alone with the Father, singing to Him. After she did that for some time – there came an opportunity for her to get on the worship team and she is now the #1 piano player in her church. She didn’t wait for something to happen; she worked hard and started the process and when she was ready – God made things happen on her behalf.

In order for you to be in the place of ministry you want to be in – it’s important to start now. Start learning and growing as much as you can with this gift of playing piano. Doors will open in front of your eyes when YOU are ready.

Hope that inspired you in one way or another – and I can’t wait to hear YOUR piano ministry story!
